I was disappointed. The questions seemed superficial and forced me to pick from three general choices only allowing me to lean toward the left or the right. Often none of the choices fit. The Gospel, repentance and salvation were left out in favor of focusing instead on tattoos etc. I believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the trinity and in the survey was reduced to a role of usefulness. Surveys are very difficult to write but I'm not sure that this one led us, as believers, to focus more thoughtfully on how our faith defines us. Rather it left me thinking about controversial issues.

The test reflects current fad "issues" in today's church. What about such skipped-over passages as the high priest had to be clean in order to pass capital punishment and throw the first stone; that was the real context of Jesus confronting the accusers of adultery. And war? Every war Israel fought without God's direct command to do it was lost. Obedience vs. sacrifice. I've never heard 2 Chronicles 20 preached or taught on. Jesus never commended soldiers for their soldiering, only for having accepted the Jewish One God. Soldiers were commanded to do violence to no man. Early Christians were martyred for this. Where does that leave our militaristic culture today? Where is the mandate for capital punishment in Gen. 9:5-6? Nowhere was Noah or anyone else charged to kill a murderer. Jesus said Moses made concessions to man’s hardness of heart, but not according to God’s heart. Only His is the right of life and death. We presume too much on God's Word. We pick and choose. He calls it sin.

I think that the question asked are a little too broad, because in some cases it is impossible to prevent contradictions. I understand however that a multiple choice test has to be broad to some degree, but I would encourage test-takers to take the results lightly, return to the 1611 King James Bible, pray for the Holy Spirit to guide and then you will be able to understand all that you need as you need it. God bless and may all who read this call on Jesus for salvation before it is eternally too late.
