McKnight forces you into stereotypes without any choice for what the truly "correct" answer might be. In some cases, the "best choice" was not a biblical choice, but there was no response for "none of the above." The quiz also reveals McKnight's own lack of understanding on several issues. As one example, he fails to recognize the Sabbath was, is, and always will be the Seventh Day, as given to the Jews. However, it was not and is not required for Gentile believers, whom Scripture records meeting on the First Day to commemorate the resurrection and New Life - New Covenant. The two are not to be confused, and his choices also do not consider conscience of the believer (Rom 14:5).

This quiz is unfairly written. As an Anglican, much of what I believe is traced back to the early church, and in some cases, directly to the Apostles. However, this quiz is written from a solely Protestant Evangelical persective, and therefore encorperates only traditions and interpretations that have been created since the Reformation, or, perhaps, the Evangelical movement of the mid-ninteenth century. I commend the writers for challenging the contemporary church on their knowledge of the interpretation of Scripture, but caution them against making any kind of statement pertaining to the ancient beliefs and practices of congregations outside of their immediate sphere of influence. Remember, there has never been a generation which agreed entirely on the interpretation of Scripture. Even the Apostles had differing views from time to time.

I scored moderate - 61 - which I think is pretty accurate. I agree that some of the questions were a little unclear. Just an aside, it does sort of annoy me that homosexuality and the status of women would be considered in the same way towards conservatism and progressiveness, when I seem them as very separate issues.
