Constructing a test that is valid is not an easy task. The scrutiny required to determine the reliability of just one item on a psychological inventory is taxing and thorough. Similarly, there is sophistication in the educational world regarding appropriate pedagogical principles for test construction. What has amazed me for many years is that most professors have no training in teaching or testing. Professor McKnight’s hermeneutics quiz is certainly skewed on the conservative side. Any score close to ten discredits conservatism. It does not confirm it.

This test was way too conservative. On most of the questions they didn't even offer an option on the liberal end of the spectrum. I quit about 10 questions in. The most "progressive" answer they can provide on the question of women is that the Bible's injunctions were "needed for first century Christians" but not today? Gimme a break!

I scored a 52 i.e. conservative. In most cases, I believe that due to cultural changes, aspects governing human behavior has changed. However, certain laws still apply to today's culture. I won't list my issues on what should and should not be followed since this is no the platform for such remarks. However, I was somewhat surprised to see that I was conservative.
